No, but I don't go to CU or read churchill's writings, so I could care less. It's his department's decision.
...you "could care less?"
First off, let me suggest some reading for you.
If you are going to work as a journalist, I suggest knowing your idioms, lest you look foolish.
Secondly, does something need to personally affect you to have an opinion? Seems like a rather shallow dodge to me.
Yes, and I wouldn't have run it either. He's using a largely insignificat, soft-ball issue like reparations to basically insult blacks and hint that they're better off because of slavery. I'm not going to debate reparations with you, but there's the ad for everyone to see.
...fair enough. At least I know how dishonest you are the next time you start spouting off about "censorship."
So you're not going to do it?
...LOL. This one really makes me laugh. I know 4 year olds with better grasps of logical reasoning. Do I have to go get a tattoo to support your right to deface yourself? Please, act like an adult. I'm waiting for the "rubber & glue" statements from you next.
I'm saying that if you can't provide evidence of them running a palestinian extremist ad, you're full of shit. You're assuming first that the GUPS are palestinian extremists, second that they would run an extremist ad on a scale with that of the horowitz ad, and third that the paper has agreed to print it. And you expect me to believe all of those with no hard evidence? This wasn't some harmless ad for a "fair" or a rally by horowitz, so you can't make that argument.
And I've read that same frontpagemag/saf article, it's incredibly misleading. The clubs with offices next to the GUPS are the GLBT student union and the Korean Students association. Both enjoy the same office spots and "door mural" privelidges of the GUPS. No mention in the ad of SAF's display case in the library lobby (something no other student group currently has.) No mention that black and american indian student groups have been around (Richard Oakes was an SFSU grad student when he occupied alcatraz). No mention that Ceasar Chavez, Malcolm X, Rigoberta Menchu, Richard Oakes, Rosa Parks, and Jack Adams all have sections of the student center named after them... the idea that the GUPS gets preferencial treatment over the other student groups is almost as funny as you thinking that frontpagemag would give you an even remotely accurate portrayal of the situation.
...so are you proclaiming that GUPS or ANSWER have never run ads or had their press releases published, or are you saying since I don't have access to all the printed back issues of the Xpress I must be wrong?
And, just becasue you don't find GUPS to be radical, doesn't mean some Jewish people don't feel likewise. Thats the whole point of balance. Even if you don't agree morally or intellectually you should still provide equal access as a University run paper.
You just posted in defense of Churchill not a week ago that it was his duty to expose students to thought outside the mainstream, yet you feel a Univeristy paper should not?
You seem to be working awfully hard trying to cover your tracks when its clear that you are merely traveling in a circle. You support free exchange of ideas on campus one minute, then you oppose them the next. So which is it?
